Welcome to Little Tiger!
Little Tiger is a Chinese immersion school located in central Austin serving children 2 years old through fifth grade. As a full Chinese immersion school, Little Tiger is unique in the Austin-area.
We are committed to providing students with a highly personalized learning experience within a diverse, culturally rich community. Our teaching team’s goal is to deliver a rigorous curriculum that inspires children’s natural love of learning and helps them to become curious, knowledgeable, life-long learners.
As a full Chinese immersion school, we also aim for our students to achieve very high levels of Chinese proficiency, including speaking/listening, reading/writing, and “thinking in Chinese.”
We also strive to create an environment that fosters independence and collaboration as well as creativity, empathy, and resilience. Last, we hope and expect that our students will become responsible citizens and leaders, capable of applying their academic and social skills to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
At Little Tiger, Chinese is not a subject—it is the medium we use for all of our activities, from morning meetings to math lessons to art & music.
Whole Child Approach
Our “Whole Child” approach emphasizes each child’s overall growth, including: cognitive, linguistic, social-emotional, and physical development.
Our goal is to foster a fun, creative, engaging environment where students flourish academically and develop their curiosity through project-based learning.

Learning at Little Tiger
Small class sizes. Our low student-to-teacher ratios facilitate differentiated learning. Students receive tailored, small-group lessons and learn based on their developmental readiness.
Math. Using the innovative Singapore Math Curriculum, our math program emphasizes critical thinking and creative approaches to problem solving.
English. Kinder and elementary students receive regular, focused instruction in English reading and writing.
Our collaborative team consists of 20+ experienced teachers and administrators, most with masters or doctoral-level academic training. Meet our teaching team.
Our campus is located two miles north of UT Austin in the North Loop neighborhood. Our newest classroom building, designed by Murray Legge Architecture, received a 2020 Design Award from the Texas Society of Architects.

Health, Safety, and Covid-19
Our community’s efforts allowed us to meet the educational needs of our students while also prioritizing the health of our families and teachers. Our students attended school in-person throughout the entirety of the 2020-21 school year.
